About OBBBAcheck
An independent calculator built to give tipped workers and overtime employees an accurate, honest picture of what the One Big Beautiful Bill Act actually means for their paycheck.
What we do
OBBBAcheck calculates your federal income tax savings under the OBBBA tips and overtime deductions, shows you the FICA taxes that still apply (which many calculators hide), gives you the exact dollar amount to enter on W-4 Line 4b, and tracks real-time state conformity data so you know whether your state has matched the federal deduction.
How we verify our numbers
- OBBBA provisions — caps, phase-outs, sunset dates, and qualifying rules are sourced directly from IRS.gov guidance documents, Treasury press releases, and IRS Notice 2025-69.
- Federal tax brackets — updated to the official 2026 inflation-adjusted thresholds per IRS Revenue Procedure 2025-32.
- FICA rates and wage base — sourced from the Social Security Administration and IRS Publication 15.
- State conformity data — maintained in real time via our Sanity CMS, updated when state legislatures act.
What we are not
OBBBAcheck is not affiliated with the IRS, the U.S. Treasury, or any government agency. We are not a tax preparation service and we do not provide legal or tax advice. All results are estimates for informational purposes. Consult a qualified tax professional before making financial decisions.
Accuracy commitment
We are committed to accuracy over simplicity. That means showing FICA taxes even when they reduce the headline savings number, disclosing the FLSA requirement for overtime workers, noting the self-employed net income cap for tipped workers, and keeping state conformity data current.
